Steel vs Aluminium Soccer Goals
Steel Soccer Goals
Benefits
- Steel football goals are the ultimate outdoor goal. In terms of strength and robustness, they have unrivalled performance.
- These goals can be left out in all weathers and are perfect for any surface or terrain, due to the weight of steel goals they are also able to withstand high velocity impact without the use of anchors or weight plates.
- Steel goals are more affordable than Aluminium goals, making them preferable for backyard and recreational purposes.
Drawbacks
- Steel goals lack the manoeuvrability and lightweight build that Aluminium goals possess. This is down to steel being a lot heavier than aluminium which in turn makes them harder to transport.
- Steel goals can also be prone to corrosion and rust which means they may need more maintaining over time. Fortunately, FORZA Steel goals are made using galvanised steel which is rust resistant.
Aluminium Soccer Goals
Benefits
- Aluminium goals are by far the more attractive goal in terms of looks, they are sleek and polished which makes them perfect for professional football.
- Their lightweight build makes them easy to manoeuvre and transport between sessions, they are very beneficial for any temporary set ups.
- Aluminium naturally resists rust and corrosion, making it ideal for outdoor use in all weather conditions without the need for extensive maintenance.
Drawbacks
- With their lightweight design, aluminium goals can be prone to tipping over. However, this is unlikely with FORZA aluminium goals as we supply BS-EN standard base weights and anchors which can be brought alongside your goal.
- Aluminium goals are typically more expensive than steel.
Socketed vs Freestanding Goals
Socketed Goal Posts
Most professional soccer pitches use socketed goal posts because they are ideal for long-term placement. These posts are installed using sleeves and sockets that are permanently anchored to the ground, making them more challenging to install than freestanding posts but easy to remove when needed.
Typically, the sockets and sleeves are embedded in concrete cubes to ensure they are firmly secured, providing exceptional stability and robustness. This construction makes them a common choice for parks and public grounds, as they are almost immovable and can withstand all weather conditions without toppling over.
FORZA's FIFA/UEFA Elite Stadium Soccer Goals are currently installed at professional venues, including Manchester United's Old Trafford, and they are widely recognised as the best stadium goals you can buy.

Freestanding Goal Posts

At Net World Sports we supply a wide range of freestanding goals including our renowned FORZA Alu110 Soccer Goals. These box goals are lightweight yet incredibly robust, and they can be purchased with 360-degree wheels which means they can be moved effortlessly across all surfaces.
